Plain-language summary: QuickDrop PC transfers files directly between your phone and your Windows PC over your local Wi-Fi network. It does not use the internet during operation, does not have external servers, does not store your files, does not collect personal data, and does not include any analytics or tracking code. Your files are yours, exclusively.
1. Who We Are
QuickDrop PC is a software product developed and published by Webelity, a software company based in Camden County, Georgia, USA. You can contact us at support@webelity.com or visit www.webelity.com.
2. What Information We Collect
QuickDrop PC collects no personal information whatsoever.
Specifically, we do not collect:
- Your name, email address, or any contact information
- Your IP address (local or external)
- Device identifiers, hardware fingerprints, or operating system information
- The names, sizes, types, or contents of any files you transfer
- Transfer histories, usage frequency, or session logs
- Location data of any kind
- Crash reports or diagnostic telemetry
- Browsing behavior or analytics events
The QuickDrop PC application binary contains zero third-party analytics SDKs, zero tracking libraries, and zero crash-reporting integrations. There is no code path in the application that transmits data to any server controlled by Webelity or any third party.
3. How the Application Works (Technical Architecture)
Understanding why no data is collected requires understanding how QuickDrop PC operates at a technical level:
- QuickDrop PC installs a native Windows background engine (
QuickDrop.exe) that runs in your system tray. - This engine opens TCP and UDP sockets that are bound exclusively to your local network interface. Packets are processed entirely within your home router's subnet.
- The engine serves a lightweight companion web application over an HTTP server bound to your local IP address, accessible only from devices on the same Wi-Fi network.
- When you transfer a file, the phone streams it directly over this local TCP connection to your PC. The data is written to your chosen destination folder on your PC's hard drive.
- At no point does any file data, file metadata, or identifying information pass through the internet or reach any server outside your home.
- QuickDrop PC does not establish any outbound internet connections during normal operation.
4. Purchase and Payment Information
QuickDrop PC is sold via the Microsoft Store. All payment processing, purchase receipts, and license management are handled entirely by Microsoft. Webelity does not receive, store, or process your credit card information, billing address, or payment method details. Please refer to Microsoft's Privacy Statement for information about how they handle purchase data.
5. Local Data Storage
QuickDrop PC stores the following data locally on your Windows PC only:
- Application settings, your chosen destination folder, startup preferences, and
notification preferences. Stored in your Windows AppData directory
(
%LOCALAPPDATA%\QuickDropPC\). Never transmitted anywhere. - Received files, files transferred from your phone are written to your chosen destination folder. QuickDrop does not read, index, scan, or retain information about the content of received files beyond completing the transfer.
No log files of transfer activity are retained by the application.
6. Network Activity
QuickDrop PC uses the following network ports on your local network only:
- A configurable TCP port for file transfer data streams (default: within the 5000–9000 range)
- A configurable HTTP port for the mobile companion web interface (default: within the 3000–9000 range)
- A UDP broadcast port for automatic device discovery on the local subnet
All of these ports are bound to your local network adapter only. They are not reachable from the internet unless you have explicitly forwarded those ports in your router, something QuickDrop does not request, configure, or require.
7. Children's Privacy
QuickDrop PC is a general-purpose file transfer utility. It does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. Because we collect no data at all, there is no COPPA compliance gap, there is simply no data to be compliant with.
8. Third-Party Libraries
The QuickDrop PC Windows engine is a native C application that uses only standard Windows system libraries (Win32 API, WinSock2, Shell32). It does not embed or use any third-party networking, analytics, advertising, or crash reporting SDKs.
The QuickDrop PC desktop UI bridge (QuickDropUI.exe) is a Node.js application packaged for standalone execution. It uses only open-source libraries required for the user interface and local IPC communication. None of these libraries make outbound network requests to external servers.
9. Security
QuickDrop PC implements session-based authentication for local transfers. Each session generates a unique token that must be presented by the mobile companion to initiate a transfer. This prevents unauthorized devices on the same network from sending files to your PC without your knowledge.
Because all data stays local, the attack surface is limited to your home network, the same network that controls your router, smart home devices, and other computers. Standard network security practices (a strong Wi-Fi password, not sharing your Wi-Fi with untrusted guests) are sufficient.
10. Your Rights
Because QuickDrop PC collects no personal data, there is no data for us to provide, correct, delete, or export in response to a data subject request. However, if you have questions about your privacy in relation to this product, contact us at support@webelity.com and we will respond promptly.
If you purchased via the Microsoft Store, Microsoft may retain transaction records per their own privacy policy. Contact Microsoft directly for requests related to your purchase records.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy to reflect changes in the application's features or applicable law. Material changes will be noted with an updated effective date. We will not introduce data collection to this product without explicit, prominent disclosure.
